Christmas Events in the Stroud District

It's the season of goodwill and festivities, so take a look at all the sparkling events happening in the Stroud District.

Festive Dursley - Friday 24th November, from 4pm

Watch the Christmas lights switch-on. Meet Father Christmas. Enjoy street entertainment and watch the fireworks. Lots of stalls and food available.

Nailsworth Noel - Friday 24th November, from 5pm 

There will be a children’s fancy dress parade following Santa through the town at 5pm. Don’t miss the magical Winter Wonderland, Santa’s Grotto, nativity photoshoot, bands, food and fairground. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Nailsworth.

Painswick Goodwill Evening - Friday 24th November, from 5pm

Painswick's small, but perfectly formed, Goodwill evening takes place in the centre of this beautiful small town. There will be hot food and drink, stalls and festivities galore.

Made in Chalford Christmas Fair, Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd December

Festive stalls and open studios perfect for meeting and buying from local artists and artisans selling unique, gifts for Christmas.

Stroud Goodwill Evening, Friday 1st December, 4pm to 9pm

Stroud's Goodwill Evening is the annual Christmas light switch-on which takes place on the first Friday of the month of December. Gift markets, a procession and late night shop opening with a host of entertainment. 

Christmas Under the Edge, Saturday 2nd December, 4pm to 7pm

This annual Goodwill Evening includes stalls in the main shopping streets, attractions such as fair ground rides and Santa’s Grotto, along with live music. Many of the shops have dressed their windows for the Christmas Window Competition “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” organised by Wotton-under-Edge Town Council in partnership with Wotton Heritage Centre. There is also a popular Reindeer Trail with decorated reindeer hiding in windows of shops, pubs and businesses.
